Final Design Statement
Design is part of our everyday lives. What you view as aesthetically pleasing; someone else first pondered, stressed over, agonized, elaborated, revitalized, envisioned, and finally turned into the perfect vision. That is my favorite part. Merely taking a concept and all its complexities and turning it into something others can experience. Compact layers of details fit inside every design thought. It can be difficult to allow emotions to flow through your fingertips onto paper to achieve desired concept. It has been my consistent goal to develop that ability.
Art has always been an integral part of my life. When I experienced difficult situations, words escaped me. That cultivated my desire for expression in other ways. Creativity strengthened the impact. They always say that a picture is worth a thousand words. I want to make a difference in the world of design.
Personal influence will always impact your work even in small ways. That’s where the unique ideas move from effective to awe-inspiring. Simple is typically better but behind the simple is a magnitude of ideas and creativity. My numerous interests allow me to draw upon a plethora of experience. That knowledge allows me to target a broader audience for my layouts. Design is allowing a sensory overload to envelope your senses while you drown in emotion. Not seeing the layers but feeling them.
Individualism is extremely important to me. I would love to work for a range of clients who will challenge my abilities and broaden my skills. I like change, I like variation, and I am excited to be challenged to be the best by working with a client as excited as I am.

Last candidate interviewed
I think he was the best candidate we've had. He is down to earth, good at what he does, relates to the students VERY well and all around awesome in general. He used every meme that we are familiar with and made it hilarious. I can't say enough good things about him. He also gave some awesome advice that I can actually use and apply. He fits everything I would want in a teacher. HIRE HIM.

Side note
I will be posting stuff soon, but I have been sick for the past month and it has only gotten worse along with having basically 6 other classes. So, I will post things as soon as I can.
Aaron (Third candidate)
I thought he did a decent job and knew a lot about his business, but he was very boring. He was monotone and didn't make things very interesting. His work was good though and explained it decently. Some of the computer stuff went over my head, but the stuff he was working on seemed cool and unique.

Meredith Morrison
I thought she did an awesome job. She knew what she was talking about and very comfortable with herself. She was lively and had a different perspective on things. She is pretty well travelled and uses her own personality in her work.

ADAI Deksia event
It was really cool to hear the guys talk about their business and how passionate they are about what they do. It's a small business and their life stories were hilarious and also inspiring. They had a live twitter feed going on along with a slide show of their work and them talking about other things they have done so there was always something keeping you interested and never bored. I would like to work in a job environment like that. They also talked about how their fire logo came from a few minutes of needing one and looking at a flammable symbol.
Speaker
The speaker did a good job at going over her work and explainging why she did what she did. Her stories about what she has done has helped me think about what I want to do. Using her own life experiences in her work really makes her pieces stronger and more personal/unique. It also got me thinking about grad school as well about how it's not necessarily for the better.

AIGA DETOUR
I went to the AIGA Detour at Saturday Manufacturing on January 26th. It was great to hear them talk about what they did and how their business worked. They have some awesome advertisements they have created and loved seeing them all. They definitely love their job.

Design Statement
Here is what I have so far...
Art has been one of the biggest parts of my life. It has helped me overcome hard situations, express my feelings that could not always be explained in words, and pass along a message using creativity to strengthen the impact. They always say that a picture is worth a thousand words. I want to make a difference in the world of design.
It's very important to always have some sort of personal influence in your work no matter how minimal it is. That's what makes art unique and desirable. No one wants art that just anyone could do or something that just looks the same as everything else. Simple is usually always better, but that still leaves a lot of room for creativity. I always thought it was bad that I had too many interests, but now I'm starting to think otherwise. I can use that many more aspects of me in my designs and have a broader range of an audience to portray my ideas and designs to.
I always challenge the assignments I'm given. I don't want to be like everyone else and have the same creations as other people. I want to stand out on my own. I want to work for a range of clients who will challenge my abilities and broaden my skills. I don't want the same type of clients all the time. I need change and something to keep me going and the same stuff can get boring. I couldn't tell you what exactly I want to work with for a client since I could see myself working with all kinds
